Label TextThese vessels represent one of the three pottery traditions at the site during the Proto-Urban period. Called Proto-Urban A, this tradition consisted of handmade bowls and jugs that were covered with a burnished or polished red slip. Parallels with similar pottery traditions in the Near East suggest the influence of people from Syria and Anatolia.Exhibition HistoryMCCM Permanent Collection Galleries, May 11, 1993 - Spring 2001
