Label TextDuring the first millennium B.C., the region of central Iran, especially around Tepe Sialk, produced a tradition of beautifully painted ceramics comprising beaked jugs and cups with dark-on-white decoration. Bands of geometric motifs, including rays, lozenges, checkboards, and rarer designs of animals were employed.
