Label TextThough broken, this storage jar was valued by its owner and mended in antiquity. Holes were bored on either side of the break and the crack was filled with plaster. The impression of a binding in the plaster indicates that cordage or fiber was laced through the holes to keep the break steady while the plaster dried.
