Label TextThe next day we called at Jaffa, so we got off and hired a car to Jerusalem and spent about half a day there . . . The Chief of Police had been shot at the night before so all the city was in turmoil with British soldiers posted all over the town. The old city is intensely interesting with the Arab bazaars and mosques and narrow arched lanes.
