Label TextI walked out to the temple of Karnak this afternoon and believe me it is gigantic. The lofty columns are masterpieces of masonry. You can get a good idea about the thing as it must have looked thousands of years ago. I am so glad I have seen Angkor Wat, etc. and can compare them in my mind.(Letter from Luxor, Egypt, June 8, 1937)
