Label TextOsiris as a mummy stands front with arms crossed, wearing an atef-crown with ram's horns, holding a flail in each hand. The device-type is popular, reflecting the continued use of Pharaonic imagery in the Roman period. Its combination with lapis is also common: the stone was associated with the protection of the night sky but was also symbolic of rebirth, making it an appropriate choice for depicting the resurrected Osiris.
