Label TextDuring the later Ramesside Period some uniquely styled coffins depicted the deceased not as a mummy, but in everyday costume. These were more often depicted under the lid on a wooden body cover placed over the mummy.

This arm would have belonged to a cover made for a woman and shows an elegant hand with rings of varying materials on each finger and a polychrome beaded bracelet. It was made separately and would have been attached to a large board carved and painted to simulate a pleated linen dress.
