Label TextThis wood engraving, with the mountain rising up to occupy the middle ground, with alternating light and dark-textured areas in a rippling folds, evokes the still, sunny weather of a Green Mountain summer. The landscape overpowers the little house, reminding us that man's structures are no match for nature's. Cheffetz used a magnifying glass when working on his blocks, painstakingly building areas of texture and tone through tiny lines.Exhibition HistoryPresident Chace's Office, Emory University, July 9 - November 9, 1995
