Label TextThe narrow inner diameter of this ring suggests it was worn by a child or perhaps by a young woman, plausibly on the upper section of a finger. The circular, highly convex garnet is engraved with a rhodon (rose) flanked by two closed buds. This was the emblem of the island of Rhodes and appears frequently on Rhodian coinage, perhaps suggesting an origin for the ring or its wearer.
