Label TextThe kings of the 5th and 6th Dynasties built their pyramids at the site of Saqqara. Their officials followed suit, building their mastaba style tombs near the pyramids of the kings they served. This relief fragment from a private tomb includes the name of king Teti, the first king of the 6th Dynasty. Teti's name suggests the official who owned the tomb either served Teti or was associated with his funerary cult after his death.
