Label TextThis dagger comes from Buseirah or ancient Bozrah, one of the chief Edomite cities in Transjordan. At its height during the seventh century B.C., the city was a major administrative center with an acropolis and palatial architecture. Due to its strategic location on one of the land routes to Egypt, the city was probably under the influence of the Assyrian Empire. Weapons, like this dagger, were common finds of the period.
