Label TextAnimal imagery is widespread in African masquerades. The aardvark is represented in the Bamana Koredugaso, an object often referred to as a "hobby horse". This piece is not a mask, but a prop that would have been ridden by a masked member of the Kore society. His costume also included a mask representing a horse, a mantle covered with power objects, and a wooden sword.Exhibition HistoryMCCM Permanent Collection Installation, November 19, 2007 - December 1, 2014
