Label TextLike southwestern Iran, the mountainous regions of western Iran also produced a tradition of dark-on-buff painted decoration. Storage jars with decoration restricted to the shoulders of the vessel were commonly left in tombs. The vessel shape, location of the decoration, and the waterbird motif reflects Elamite influence.
